Graduated with 1,452 bachelor's degrees, 1,551 master's degrees, and 358 doctor's degrees




Yonsei University held a commencement in August 2023 at 11 a.m. on August 25 (Fri).

A total of 3,365 people, including 1,452 bachelor's degrees, 1,551 master's degrees, 358 PhDs, and 4 research courses, attended the ceremony, and many graduates and parents attended, including Chairman Huh Dong-soo, President Seoung Hwan Suh, and the president of the alumni association Kyungryul Lee.



President Seoung Hwan Suh told graduates through this degree ceremony, "I hope graduates will be people who show new leadership even in the era of ultra-uncertainty," and stressed, "Have three virtues: an attitude to challenge new things, an optimistic attitude, and an ability to embrace your potential." He also encouraged, saying, "If you don't worry, don't get tired, and walk without being discouraged, you will reach your goal at some point."



Ryu Min-seok (Physics Class 18), a graduate who received a degree as representative of his bachelor's degree, said, "I'm sorry to leave the school," adding, "I hope everyone succeeds and goes well even after leaving the senior campus."


Jeong Chae-eun, a psychology graduate class 20 who received a degree as a representative of the best graduates, also said, "It was an honor to spend my early 20s in Yonsei, and I am grateful to all those who joined me."



On the 25th, when the degree ceremony was held, all over the campus was crowded with graduates, families and friends to take commemorative photos before leaving the campus. In addition to existing photo spots such as the Underwood and the Eagle statues, photo zones specially designed to commemorate the graduation ceremony were installed in front of the Underwood garden and
the fountain to leave richer memories.



In addition, a message video to graduates leaving Yonsei University was posted on our university's official SNS, adding to the meaning of the degree ceremony. The video, specially produced by the Media Center of the Office of External Affairs and Development to commemorate the degree ceremony, includes congratulatory messages from graduates, juniors, and professors, congratulating and cheering graduates who are taking new steps as proud alumni.
