Event held for international undergraduate students on Sinchon Campus in their 2nd and 3rd years
On March 22, Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, held the Welcome Party for International Students at the Global Lounge. It was an event for international undergraduate students in their second and third years who are having their first semester on the Sinchon Campus.
The event was held face-to-face, hosted by the Global One-Stop Service Center (GOSC) of the Office of International Affairs, and organized by the Foreign Students Union (FSU) as part of a University Innovation project to support the successful settlement of global talent.
About 60 undergraduate students worldwide attended the event, and the program was conducted in English and Korean.
In the first part, there was an introduction time for GOSC, which was established in the fall semester of 2022, the current Yonsei Campus Harmony Supporters members, extracurricular programs for international students, FSU, and the Chinese Students Association. Since then, FSU provided guidance on tips for living on the Sinchon Campus and in Korea for international students. In the second part of the event, students had a simple dinner and time to exchange by nationality and grade.
The international students who attended the event said, "It was a good experience to build new relationships, which would be necessary for college life for international students who may be lonely in a foreign country," adding, "It was satisfactory that we could form a bond among international students through an offline event." -
