There are different types of work options that are available in Korea while one's student status. In order to work in Korea, one need obtain a special authorization from OIA office to work. Working without authorization is a severe violation of your status and is a deportable offense.

Do I need to stay on-campus housing while I study at Yonsei?

No, students may choose to live on-campus housing or live off-campus housing - Housing is an option for students, therefore housing fee is not included in one's tuition fee, also Yonsei cannot guarantee on-campus housing for international students. Is medical insurance included in Yonsei tuition fees?

No, Yonsei do not provide health insurance for the incoming students. All students must have one's own health insurance that covers the period during their stay in Korea.

What is the minimum credit load per semester?

For regular spring/fall semesters, international students are required to register minimum of 9 credits. If a student is registered to less than 9 credits, one's visa may get cancelled without prior notice.

Will I be able to transfer my credits to my home university?

All Yonsei courses are credit-bearing courses. Credits earned at Yonsei University are transferable to most institutions outside of Korea. However, credit transferability of a particular course depends solely on home institutions' policies. Therefore, students are advised to consult and obtain approval from one's academic advisors of the home institutions in advance.

My home institution is not listed as 'partner' school on OIA website. Can I still visit Yonsei University
as a visiting student? 열기/닫기Yes, even your home institution and Yonsei are not partner schools, you may still study at Yonsei University (Summer, Winter, Regular Fall/Spring semester). Exchange students pay tuition and other fees to one's home institution and visiting students pay tuition and other relevant fees directly to Yonsei University.
