From November 26 to 28, the Korea-EU Forum was held in Brussels, Belgium. The event was co-sponsored by the Yonsei-SERI EU Center of the Institute of East and West Studies, The Korea Foundation, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The goal of the forum was to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the European Union and Korea, while enabling more effective interchanges between officials from each side.

The topics of the forum included: “Strategic Partnerships between Korea and the EU,” “Korea-EU Partnership and the Role of Future Generations,” “Regional Integration of Europe and Asia and Policies of Neighboring Countries,” and “Future Korea-EU Cooperation for Prosperity.” Forum participants included government officials and lawmakers, as well as individuals from the worlds of finance, academia, and art and culture. And in order to promote global leadership for the future, there were student panels, which included the participation of undergraduate and graduate students from both the EU and South Korea.

Next year, the Korea-EU Forum will be held in Seoul.
