On January 27, the YonseiGraduate School of Public Health celebrated technology transfer agreements with Bio-Age and the Goodman Company of Japan.  The transfers were the result of technologies patented by Yonsei Professors Gee Sun-ha (Graduate School of Public Health) and Jang Yang-soo (Department of Internal Medicine).
Two of Professor Gee’s technologies were transferred to Bio-Age, a Korean company whose pioneering Biological Age Measurement System evaluates and predicts the health of an individual in relation to her or his age.  The first of Professor Gee’s technologies is an analysis model used to measure health relative to the physiological aging process, while the second is an analysis model that predicts the risk of developing diabetes based upon an individual’s age, weight, and smoking history, as well as her or his HDL cholesterol and neural fat levels.
Professor Jang’s technology, which was transferred to the Goodman Company, is an improved type of short track balloon catheter, which is used in a variety of medical procedures, including angioplasty.
