Yonsei Professor Pai Hyun-sook’s Research Team Reports Findings on Photosynthesis Stress Resistance in Flowering Plants

- Article Published in Journal The Plant Cell

Yonsei Professor Pai Hyun-sook (Department of Systems Biology) and his research team have published the results of their research on the role of a cell growth defect factor in the photosynthesis of angiosperms, or flowering plants.  Appearing October 22 in The Plant Cell (IF 10.125), the article, “Cell Growth Defect Factor1/CHAPERONE-LIKE PROTEIN OF POR1 Plays a Role in Stabilization of Light-Dependent Protochlorophyllide Oxidoreductase in Nicotiana benthamiana and Arabidopsis,” has potentially significant implications for agriculture, as it may lead to the development of crops with greater resistance to photosynthesis stress, thereby resulting in higher yields.  The Plant Cell is a prestigious academic journal that publishes new primary research of special significance to the field of plant biology, especially in the areas of cellular biology, molecular biology, genetics, development, and evolution.
