Indian, Singaporean, and Swiss Ambassadors to Korea Visit Yonsei

In September, Yonsei welcomed Ambassadors from India, Singapore, and Switzerland to its Sinchon campus.  On September 17, Vishnu Prakash, Indian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, took part in a Diplomatic Roundtable organized by the Institute of East and West Studies, and later met with President Jeong Kap-young to discuss strengthening relations between India and Yonsei.  A week later, on September 24, the Singaporean Ambassador to Korea, Peter Tan Hai Chuan, met with President Jeong; during the meeting, the two men shared their perspectives on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Korea and Singapore.  And on September 25, Swiss Ambassador Jörg Al. Reding came to the Yonsei campus, meeting with President Jeong, Yonsei Provost Yu Kang-min, Mo Jong-ryn, Vice President of the Office of International Affairs, and Paul Tonks, Associate Dean of the Office of International Affairs.  The main topic of conversation between Ambassador Reding and the Yonsei officials was increasing cooperative relations between Yonsei and Swiss universities; they also discussed Yonsei’s new joint-research center at the University of Geneva, which will allow for greater research cooperation and expanded exchange opportunities between the two universities.
