From December 26-February 12, Yonsei University will host its Winter Abroad at Yonsei for the first time.  The program is currently designed for international university students with an interest in Korean studies, and it will offer courses in Korean literature and history, economics and management, and the Korean language.  Some of the Yonsei faculty members who will be giving courses at Winter Abroad include: Economics Professor Lee Doo-won (Korean Economy), UIC Professors John Frankl (Modern Korean Literature) and Howard Kahm (Modern Korean History), and GSIS Professor Mo Jong-ryn (Korean Development).    In addition to the aforementioned courses, Winter Abroad at Yonsei will also provide courses in business administration, psychology, philosophy, and art history, and participants will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of cultural experiences, including taekwondo classes and a ski trip.  Professor Mo, who also serves as Vice President for International Affairs, said that Winter Abroad at Yonsei intends to open its doors to a wider array of students in the future:  “The fundamental mission of this program is not limited to international university students.  In the future, we hope to welcome interested professionals, such as international corporate executives and public officials from developing countries, who have a strong interest in studies related to Korea.”
