Over the most recent five-year period, Yonsei University’s College of Medicine produced more Science Citation Index (SCI) articles than any other comparable institution in Korea.  From 2008 until the end of 2012, researchers from Yonsei’s College of Medicine published 191 SCI journal articles.  During the same period, the College of Medicine at Seoul National University (SNU) had 173 SCI articles, while Sungkyunkwan University’s published 155.   
The SCI articles produced by Yonsei’s College of Medicine were cited 1,593 times by other researchers, more than SNU’s 1,060 citations and Sungkyunkwan’s 731 citations.  On average, each Yonsei article was cited 8.34 times, while the Colleges of Medicine at SNU and Sungkyunkwan averaged, respectively, 6.13 and 4.72 citations per article.
