[INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS] President of Carnegie Mellon University Visits

President Jared L. Cohon of Carnegie Mellon University visited Yonsei University on November 10th last year. The former president Kim Han-joong met President Cohon and discussed the need for exchange and cooperation between the two schools. In particular, President Kim highlighted that many areas can be worked on in collaboration with Carnegie Melon University once Yonsei’s International Campus pushes its IT-based specialization in the convergence field. Professor Moon Il (Chemical Engineering) and the Head of the Office of International Affairs John Frankl attended the event. After the meeting between the two presidents, the visitors were given a tour of the campus led by professor Moon Il on a hydrogen car. Afterwards, they attended the alumni professor meeting. Carnegie Mellon University which is located in Pennsylvania, USA, is a prestigious university with its College of Engineering ranking 6th place on the “US News and World Report” and most of its departments including School of Art ranking within the top-tier.
