“Our beautiful companionship will continue even after the Leadership Mentoring program ends.” The closing ceremony of the “Beautiful Companionship, Leadership Mentoring” program managed by Yonsei University Leadership Center and Gayang 4 Social Welfare Center was held in Muak Hall at the Allen Building on January 18th. This mentoring program is the one that ties teenagers in the Gayang District of Kangseo-gu with Yonsei University students. Over the past year, mentors and mentees have created precious memories through regular meetings and various activities. At the closing ceremony which completed the past year, they shared the meaning of mentoring and 20 mentor-mentee pairs were given good performance awards for their model behaviors. During a goodbye speech, one mentor said that the past year was a valuable experience that provided the chance to look back on life and practice responsibility and diligence to become a role model to the mentee. During a thank-you speech, one mentee expressed appreciation for the mentors who gave support, love and trust for the past 11 years. The “Beautiful Companionship, Leadership Mentoring” program which began in 2006 and completed its 6th companionship will continue with the 7th batch of mentors and mentee for this year.
