Kang Tae-young, former Yonsei professor at the Department of Mass Communication and Graduate School of Mass Communication and Arts passed away on September 17th due to illness. Professor Kang graduated from Yonsei University Department of Mass Communication in 1982 and obtained a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin. In 1993, he had become a professor at Yonsei University and was dedicated towards research in the field of communication and nurturing young students for the past 19 years. He contributed to the school and the Korean media while holding various positions including the Vice President at the Graduate School of Mass Communication and Arts(2000~2002).
