The Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology visited Yonsei University on August and the two signed an academic cooperation MOU. The MOU is part of a project supported by the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) to strengthen cooperation in education between Korea and Latin America. The MOU aims to attract talented Brazilians to Korea through Brazil’s “Science without Borders” program launched by the Brazilian Government to cultivate talents in the field of science and technology. The agreement seeks to promote student and researcher exchanges with Yonsei University, co-hosting of seminars, sharing of academic information, co-research projects, exchanges between Ph.D students and researchers. Doctor Manoel Barral of the Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology and President Kim Han-joong discussed future efforts to strengthen cooperation between the two nations and to create close networks. Later, they signed the agreement, which will act as a driving force for more active bilateral exchanges.
