First set of 30,000 entry words out of the 120,000 Last December, the Institute of Information and Language Studies held an opening ceremony in celebration of releasing the online (beta version) Yonsei Modern Korean Dictionary. The ceremony was attended by former directors and around 40 affiliated professors. The dictionary was compiled on grant from Yonsei—one hundred million won per year for the past 7 years. The online Yonsei Modern Korean Dictionary provides two levels of searches—meaning and usage. Currently, 30,000 entry words out of the total 120,000 entries can be searched in the dictionary on the institute’s website (http://ilis.yonsei.ac.kr).
