Joy Little Pohl, former staff member of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul (from 1948 to 1950), has recently donated materials related to the Korean War to Yonsei University Museum. The donated materials are 2 photo albums and 3 pieces of sheet music. Her memories of Korea during the Korean War period are recorded with photos and notes under the title of “My Adventures in Korea 1948-1950”. One of the two photo albums contains photographs of renowned Korean figures such as Kim Gu, Lee Seung-man and Yeo Woon-hyung, all taken in 1947 by famous American photo journalist Horace Bristol. This album also includes people and scenery photos of ordinary people and life. The other album is composed of Korean landscape pictures taken in 1949 by Jack Roberts, a photographer of the United States Information Service. And the pieces of sheet music were copies from the first volume of the Liberation Memorial Korean National Anthem collection published by the Chosun Citizen Music Research Association in 1946.
