[YONSEI NEWS] Pre-University Course at the Korean Language Institute on Yonsei International Campus

Korean language and culture programs The Pre-University Course at the Korean Language Institute (KLI) on International Campus will come into operation in June 2010. The main goal of the Pre-University Course is to provide opportunities for foreign students (whose parents are both non-Korean nationals) to enhance their scholastic competence in terms of the Korean language and other subject areas and to become eligible to attend universities in Korea, including Yonsei University. All students of the Pre-University Course at KLI will take classes five days a week from 9:30 am to 3:50 pm. They will learn the Korean language through an intensive and systematic approach, covering Korean reading, listening, speaking and writing. To equip students for university in Korea, courses such as ‘Presentation and Discussion’, ‘Report Writing’ and ‘Korean Society and Culture’ are offered as well. Also, students will be provided with diverse Korean cultural experience and exchange programs that they will benefit from to understand and adapt to Korean lifestyle and culture. For these students, dormitory life will be mandatory and advantageous as well. The dormitory is not only equipped with modern facilities, but also intends to provide students with chances to learn cooperation and attain global sense.
