Saudi Arabia Week at Yonsei Yonsei Global organized Saudi Arabia Week at the Global Lounge from 30 March to 1 April. With support from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, this event offered a number of sessions, including an exhibition, lectures, food booths and other experiences of the Arabian culture. On the first day, Ahmad Shewayman—a Saudi Arabian student at Yonsei—and Min Woong-gi—a student of the Department of Political Science and International Studies who is fluent in Arabic—gave a lecture on the ways of greeting in Arabic. Over the first two days, there was an exhibition of many photos and items from Saudi Arabia. On 31 March, Professor Kim Jong-do (who teaches Arabian culture and Arabic courses at Yonsei) gave a lecture entitled “Why Arab, the Middle East and Islam?” The main event was held on 1 April, which was celebrated with many food booths and various activity booths such as trying on traditional Arabian clothes, trying out henna, trying shisha and hookahs and making cell phone accessories with Arabic numerals.
