2010 Entrance Ceremony Held at Jamshil Stadium The 2010 Welcome Ceremony for freshmen was held on February 19 at Jamshil Stadium. Some 3,899 students from Sinchon campus and 1,700 from Wonju participated in the ceremony to celebrate their first step as students of Yonsei. In his celebratory address for the freshmen, University President Kim Han-Joong asked them to "foster dreams to become elites with warm hearts and to become the hope for the world" and to "make the world a better place through goodwill and creativity." After the ceremony, there was a welcoming event for the freshmen. The event was organized by the Student Council and Akaraka (Yonsei's cheering squad) and included K-pop star '2NE1,' as well as student groups 'Glee Club', 'Jazz Feel' and 'Sonagi'. Freshmen also had time to learn Yonsei's slogans for cheering with Akaraka. At the end of the event, all the participants including the University President and staffs shouted 'Akaraka' together as members of Yonsei family.
