[YONSEI NEWS] Alumni in USA Give Huge Support to Yonsei’s Globalization

University President’s Visits Yonsei's Alumni Associations in USA University president Kim Han-joong visited Yonsei's alumni association in the United States for 11 days last month, strengthening the university's network in the region. President Kim visited alumni associations in LA, Washington, and New York. He attended alumni gatherings and accreditation ceremony of Yonsei Language Institute in LA, had meetings with alumni association staffs, and participated in the board meeting of Yonsei International Foundation. President Kim was also interviewed by local press. He said during one of the interviews, "Our 30,000 alumni in America are a big support for Yonsei’s globalization. I came to the States to meet our alumni and inform them of the change Yonsei is making as well as to encourage outstanding Korean students here to come to Yonsei.” During his visit, President Kim emphasized that Korean universities in the global arena of competition should commence “inbound globalization” to attract foreign students to Korea. President Kim’s successful visit to the States Songdo International Campus gain recognition in America through the network of alumni associations in the region. Kim Dong-hoon, head of the Office of External Affairs and Development, and Paik Seung-guk from Secretarial Service Division accompanied the president during the visit.
