The Yonsei Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) was accepted as a member of the APSIA (Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs) on May 28. The APSIA is an organization of 31 international studies graduate institutions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and membership is granted after extensive evaluation of institutions that satisfy the association’s high standards. The Yonsei GSIS became the 32nd member of the APSIA and signifies that the Yonsei GSIS has gained acclaim not only within Korea but internationally as well. Yonsei’s GSIS was established in 1987 as Korea’s first graduate institution in international studies, and is one of the best examples of the Yonsei value of “the First & the Best”. APSAI members from a strong relationship, holding admission fairs together and making it more convenient to introduce exchange and dual degree programs. Through this accreditation, the Yonsei GSIS expects to conduct new programs such as student and faculty exchange and collaborative research. These programs will serve to establish Yonsei GSIS as a training ground for international leaders of the world.
