The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore The 2007 Staff Training Program was held on January 13-19 in Hong Kong and Singapore. Twenty-eight university employees visited the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. The program included touring university facilities such as libraries, dorms, sports facilities, auditoriums, and discussing cooperation plans with the staff members of the respective universities. Mr. Chae Seok-myeong, a participant in this year’s program, commented on his experience: “I could see that the two universities were using their stable funding to focus on specific areas of specialty and possessed well-trained administrative service personnel. Some facilities were at the level of Yonsei facilities, but I felt they were able to achieve impressive development through recruiting international faculty and investing in research funds and residential environment.”
