UIC Students Emerge Strong in U.S. Exchange Program 3 UIC students chosen in 2007, the highest number among domestic universities UIC students of Yonsei University scored high among domestic students at U.S. exchange student program. Three Yonsei students were chosen at ‘2008 Study of the U.S. Institute for Korean Undergraduates Student Leaders’ program, sponsored by U.S. government and U.S Embassy in Korea. Fifteen students were chosen nationwide through U.S. Embassy interviews, U.S. government interviews and exams. Three students from Yonsei Universities are from UIC. The students are Daseop Lee, HeaJi Shin, and Choeun Chon. This is an impressive achievement, considering what Yonsei’s rival institutions have gained: only two students from Seoul National University and just one student from Korea University. This is a substantial proof that UIC‘s curriculum is one of the best in the country. ‘Study of the U.S. Institute for Korean Undergraduates Student Leaders’ program is in its second year. The program was established to help Korean students understand United States and to cultivate future leaders. Last year, five students were chosen from Yonsei to attend Chicago University Exchange Program. Yonsei University students are well received in the program as excellent students. This year’s acceptance rate proves once again the excellence of Yonsei University and UIC curriculum. The students will receive full scholarship and airfare from the U.S. Embassy to attend exchange program for six weeks at the Chicago University during the winter semester. They will participate in leadership lectures, volunteer activities and various cultural exchange programs with the Chicago University students.
