Yonsei’s research fund total was 157 billion won and academic-industrial cooperation funds were recorded at 230 billion won. Director Park Jin-bae of the Academic-Industrial Cooperation Center explained, “Large funds equals strong research power. This is why the amount of research funds is an index for evaluating universities internationally.” Yonsei’s high score in research articles and SCI articles signals the high level of the research conducted at Yonsei, while the high ranking in research funds shows the strong trust corporations and government institutions have in Yonsei.
