On September 6 and 7, Yonsei hosted the career fair called “START-UP to Change the World, STARTUP Campus Recruiting.” Held in the atrium of Engineering Research Park, the event marked the first large-scale start-up career fair.

The aim of the fair was to raise awareness about start-ups among university students and to allow start-up companies to scout out talented aspiring entrepreneurs. Fortyfour start-up companies took part, including several which have been fostered by the Yonsei Enterprise Support Foundation; other start-ups included companies incubated by Ticket Monster (TMON), an affiliate of Yello Financial Group, MashUp Angels, sopoong, and Underdogs. APRILSKIN, a start-up created by Yonsei alumni was also in attendance.

The career fair was noteworthy in that it allowed for on-site job applications and consultations with start-up CEOs. Ten of the companies also provided seminars for the students. Kyung-joo Heo, a business administration student from Konkuk University, said of the fair: “There are few opportunities to learn about startups, particularly when compared to the larger conglomerates, so this was a good opportunity to meet various start-up companies. I hope events like this are held more often.”
