—Allows Participants to Enjoy Cultural Experiences with Ten Embassies

Yonsei’s Mirae Education Institute has established the “Premium Cultural Experience Program” in collaboration with ten embassies in Seoul. Participants in the program are given opportunities to experience different cultures by tasting local cuisine, watching performances, and attending lectures given by the nation’s ambassador to Korea. The program was conceived and organized by Mirae Education Institute Director Lee Doo-won.

The opening ceremony for the program was held at the Banyan Tree Hotel on March 11, and twenty participants were selected, among them corporate leaders and top professionals from a variety of sectors. Since then, the participants have been visiting different nations’ embassies and ambassador residences to enjoy new cultural experiences.

At the opening ceremony, Senior Vice President for Administration and Development Park Jin-bae welcomed the participants, saying: “Yonsei University is emerging as a globally recognized university and one of the leaders of the global era. The Premium Cultural Experience Program was developed with this in mind. Such a prestigious program could only be made possible by Yonsei.” Vice President Park also praised the Yonsei staff and faculty members whose efforts made the program possible. College of Music Professor Kang Moo-rim sang “O Sole Mio” to the audience, which included Argentinian Ambassador Jorge J.A. Roballo and Vietnamese Deputy Ambassador Nguyen Manh Dong. Both diplomats expressed their pleasure with being able to share their countries’ food, history, and culture with the program participants.
