—Will Enable Teachers to Detect Plagiarism in Korean and English

Beginning this fall, Yonsei will offer plagiarism prevention systems in both Korean and English on YSCEC, or Yonsei Cyber Education Community. The specific systems that will be provided through YSCEC are Turnitin and MemeChecker.

Possessing a massive database of student papers, while having licensing agreements with a number of large academic proprietary databases, Turnitin is used by nearly 11,000 institutions in more than 130 countries worldwide. MemeChecker, the Korean plagiarism detection system, allows educators to compare student papers with published academic materials from Korea.

By making these plagiarism prevention systems available to teachers, Yonsei is striving to emphasize the importance of student responsibility and intellectual honesty.
