In anticipation of Yonsei’s 130th anniversary next year, the Global Leadership Division Program (GLDP) has been established. Reflecting the values and ambitions of Yonsei’s “Third Founding,” the GLDP aims to attract outstanding international and overseas Korean students by offering an elite and specialized education program with a strong foundation in Korean language and culture. The GLDP is unique in that it seeks to cultivate global leaders who have a deep understanding of Korean language, culture, and society. Along with its emphasis on Korean studies, the program seeks to foster the values of service, cultural diversity, and originality, while promoting convergence and interdisciplinary thinking. GLDP students earn a major in Korean Culture and Commerce, but they also have the option of double-majoring in another Yonsei undergraduate program.  One of the GLDP’s major strengths is its customized learning system, which provides students with small class sizes, individualized mentoring, research training, and intensive Korean language courses designed for a wide range of language learners.  GLDP students also have the option of participating in one-on-one debates and small group seminars.  Furthermore, GLDP offers specialized exchange programs, cultural programs and field trips, and internship opportunities.
