Through an agreement with the Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the Yonsei School of Business (YSB) now offers a Global Business Intensive (GBI) MBA program. The program, which began in March with twenty-one students, is designed to train globally-minded business specialists with an expertise in the energy industry. Over the course of eighteen months, students in the program will take courses in accounting, finance, business management, and international business and contract law, as well as more specific, energy industry related subjects. Each student will also undertake a “Global Business Project” before graduating.
In 2012 and 2013, YSB offered Global Business Intensive courses through the Sangnam Institute of Management (SIM) as part of a non-degree program. This year, however, the GBIMBA became a “contract” program, meaning that it has been officially certified by government and industry as a full-fledged academic program training energy industry specialists.
