Yonsei Students Design Innovative Business Proposals with International Exchange Students During the spring semester of 2013, Yonsei’s Division of International Education and the Yonsei Enterprise Support Foundation teamed up to offer the course Technology Entrepreneurship in Korea to both regular Yonsei students and international exchange students. The course was intended to promote entrepreneurship through hands-on experience designing innovative business proposals. Another special feature of this course was the involvement of professional entrepreneurs, who served as mentors for student group projects and offered guidance on becoming a successful entrepreneur. Through the course, students were exposed to the core values of successful and dynamic entrepreneurship, while also gaining the opportunity to create and implement their own ideas for sustainable business growth. The course evaluations revealed that the overwhelming majority of students were satisfied with course, especially the guidance they received from actual entrepreneurs; and many felt confident that the course better equipped them to become innovative and dynamic entrepreneurs in the future. The success of this course has convinced the Division of International Education to offer more practical, business-related courses in association with the Enterprise Support Foundation. This fall, the Division of International Education plans to provide even more international exchange students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing innovative entrepreneurial ideas, while learning more about the business culture in Korea. Yonsei’s Technology Entrepreneurship in Korea course will continue to facilitate meaningful interactions between domestic and international students as they learn about what it takes to succeed in various business environments, both within Korea and overseas.
