[YONSEI NEWS] Yonsei University College of Pharmacy Holds a Symposium

The College of Pharmacy held a symposium on November 4th in order to celebrate its founding and to seek for ways of development for the College's future. Mary Anne Koda-Kimble, Dean of UCSF School of Pharmacy was invited as a guest speaker for the symposium. Hwang Woo-yeo, floor leader of the Grand National Party, Won Hee-mok, congressperson (Health, Welfare Committee) of the Grand National Party, Kim Dae-gyung, Chairman of the Board for the Korean Association of Pharmacy Education, and Song Jong-gyung, President of Incheon Pharmaceutical Association attended the event to celebrate the establishment of Yonsei University College of Pharmacy. Dean Ahn Young-su said that Yonsei's College of Pharmacy, which took about a century to be created, will lead Korea's pharmaceutical and medical field as an educational and research institution. Mary Anne Koda-Kimble, Dean of UCSF School of Pharmacy, was the guest speaker for the first part of the symposium. The examples she shared illustrated various lessons that Yonsei University College of Pharmacy can learn from. Koda-Kimble, who has been the Dean of UCSF School of Pharmacy since 1998, gave advice on the future direction of Yonsei University College of Pharmacy based on her rich experience and academic background. During the second part of the symposium, Vice Dean Kang Hae-young and Professor Han Gyoon-hee discussed plans for the future of the College under the title "The Future and Vision for Yonsei University College of Pharmacy." This included the educational purpose, curriculum, practical training, and research programs of the College.
