As a part of UNESCO Chair Program on "socially sustainable and historical city," an international workshop and symposium was held. This year's workshop and symposium was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from January 20 to 30 with a millennial celebration of the city of Hanoi as the nation's capital. Yonsei Chair-professor Lee Sang-rim organized the event with UNESCO and local government. Participants in the event were student representatives and professors from universities around the world including Tongji University (China), Cept University (India), the National University (Philippines), Yonsei University (Korea), Daejeon University (Korea), Iowa State University (USA), Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (Vietnam). Professionals and government officials from various regions also participated in the event.
