Yonsei Study Abroad Center held "2009 Korea-USA Youth Exchange Program" from 9 to 22 August. The program was offered to provide opportunity of learning Korean culture to High school Students from USA. 101 high school students from all around the US participated in the two-week program. During the program the students were given lectures on Korean history and culture, and visited cultural heritages in Seoul. The students from USA met 101 high school students in Korea on 14 August to have discussion on various issues regarding the relationship between the two countries, and were given opportunities to experience Korean culture such as making kimchi and kimbap, and learning to practice taekwondo. According to the Study Abroad Center, the program was assessed as offering a welcome opportunity to the future leaders of America to know and experience Korean society. In the USA, interest in Korea is increasing with President Obama's mention of the country on various occasions.
