Yonsei Songdo Global Academic Complex (Songdo GAC) will open in March 2010 as planned. Yonsei University and Incheon City Government agreed on a general schedule for opening the Songdo GAC. Songdo GAC will take preliminary steps to run education and research programs as it opens in March next year. Programs from International summer school, Yonsei Foreign Language Institute and foundation studies program will be offered in the first year of Songdo GAC's opening. UN Project Center for Sustainable Development is also planned to move into the complex. UIC is also earmarked to move to Songdo GAC in 2011, although the details have yet to be announced. The university is planning to establish a college of pharmacy at Songdo GAC in 2011 to foster research activities in bio-technology in cooperation with the Severance Hospital. Moreover, there is a plan to establish a college of East Asian Studies, a graduate school of Interdisciplinary Studies and Yonsei Songdo Premium Program in 2012. Installation of international educational and research institutions will also be finalized by the end of that year. Yonsei University and Incheon City Government both share plans to utilize outstanding potentials of IFEZ to develop Songdo GAC as one of the main bodies of IFEZ and a research and education hub in the Northeast Asia.
