Yonsei University and the University of California, Merced, signed an MOU for the cooperation of the two universities. President Jung Chang-Young and President Kang Sung-Mo of UC Merced met on October 23 and agreed to work together through personnel exchange and collaborative research. UC Merced is part of the University of California system that includes UC Berkeley and UCLA. It was established in 2005 near Yosemite National Park, and currently has 1,500 students.
