-Yonsei Debate Team Holds Training Camp

for High School Students

Between January 26 and 28, the Yonsei Debate Team (YDT) held a training camp for high school students at Jin Cheon High School in Chungbuk Province. YDT is guided by the belief that informed, intelligent debate is a positive force for transformation in the modern world. Currently, the team is directed by Professor Kim Ju-hwan from the School of Communications.

Preparations for the training camp began last semester with the sponsorship of Amore Pacific. According to Professor Kim: “The high school students who participated in the training camp over three days became more interested in debating, and they also learned the importance of communication.” He also emphasized that the camp benefited not only the high school trainees but also the Yonsei students who taught and mentored them. In July, another debate training camp will be held at Osong High School in Chungbuk Province.
