Discovery of Necroptosis Control Mechanism
-New Possibilities for Cancer Treatments
A research team led by Yonsei Chemistry Professor Song Jae-hwan has discovered a protein mechanism that regulates necroptosis, a form of cell death known to cause several diseases, including cancer. The mechanism is a protein called ubiquitinization chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP). In the future, the results of Professor Song’s team could contribute to developing new treatment methods for cancer, autoimmune diseases, and viral and bacterial infections.
