—Donation of Money and Medical Services
Yonsei has contributed to recovery efforts following Nepal’s massive earthquake by delivering 20,000 bottles of pasteurized milk to the Nepalese Embassy in Seoul on May 12. Yonsei President Jeong Kap-young said that the university wishes to lend its support to the earthquake victims, and he expressed his grave concern about the number of Nepalese who were still missing.
Previously, on April 29, Yonsei donated $10,000 through Gangnam Severance Hospital to Phect-Nepal, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to hungry children in the country. And on May 4, Professor Yoo Dae-hyun of Severance Hospital departed for Nepal to provide medical services for earthquake survivors. Professor Yoo was in charge of U.S. Ambassador Mark Lippert’s treatment following the knife-attack on him in early March.
