Yonsei Ranked 36th Most Innovative University in the World by Reuters
—Ranked 7th in Asia, 4th in Korea
Yonsei has been ranked 36th in Reuters’ 2015 list of the world’s most innovative universities. Topping the rankings are Stanford, MIT, and Harvard. Of the top 100 universities, half are located in the United States. Japan (9) placed the second most, followed by Korea (8), and France (8).
In Korea, KAIST (10th), POSTEC (12th), and Seoul National University (31st) were listed ahead of Yonsei. Other Korean institutions appearing in the rankings were Hanyang University (62nd), Sungkyunkwan University (66th), Korea University (84th), and GIST (86th). KAIST was deemed to be the most innovative university in Asia, followed by POSTEC, Osaka University, Kyoto University, University of Tokyo, Seoul National University, and Yonsei.
Each institution appearing in the Reuters rankings was evaluated according to several indicators, including scholarly publications and the number of patents registered.
