On April 16th, President Jeong Kap-Young signed a ‘Civil-Military Basic Agreement on IT Technology Exchange and Cooperation’ at the Republic of Korea Air Force Headquarters with Air Force Chief of Staff, General Park Jong-heon; ETRI Director Kim Heung-nam; and KEIT Director Choi Pyeong-rak. This agreement, between the Air Force and three institutions, is noted as an exemplary case of substantive exchange and cooperation among those agencies related to IT new technology and infrastructure. The four institutions have agreed upon to jointly determine projects, co-host seminars and workshops on civil-military IT technology advancement, and collaborate in pursuit of technical standard improvement, domestic production of IT new technology, and military strength development.
