Gangnam Severance Hospital Announced its New BI Yonsei's Yongdong Severance Hospital changed its name into Gangnam Severance Hospital and started its way to be the best hospital. The hospital held a ceremony for announcing its new BI (Brand Identity) on 26 February in its main auditorium, and declared to become a customer-oriented hospital, providing quality medical service that focuses on the satisfaction of customers. The director of Severance Hospital, Dr. Park Chang-il, announced the official launch of Gangnam Severance Hospital which had been called Yongdong Severance Hospital for over 20 years, delivering a new hospital flag to Dr. Cho Woo-hyun, the director of Gangnam Severance Hospital. The ceremony also included an event in which guests of honor unfolded a wing-shaped form as a symbol of the hospital’s soaring success. The hospital's director said that "Yongdong Severance Hopital now closes its quarter century of history as the first university hospital in Gangnam region from 1983 to start a new period of innovative, customer-oriented Gangnam Severance." Dr Cho also stated that the new hospital's mission is its commitment to opening a new era of high quality medical service by introducing a variety of new services such as zero-waiting time service which frees patients from waiting, establishing new cancer hospital, expanding medical examination center, and acquiring JCI standards. More than 400 faculties, staffs and guests attended the ceremony including the chairman of Yonsei Foundation Bang Woo-young, university president Kim Han-joong, and KMA (Korean Medical Association) president Joo Soo-ho.
