Scholarship for Freshmen with Excellent Korean Language Ability 2019.04.16

  • Criteria: Scholarship awarded to incoming international students who have excellent Korean language ability

  • Application: Submit TOPIK score certificate

  • Payment: Reduced semester tuition

  • Scholarship standard 1

Incoming foreign nationals and Koreans raised overseas who have completed at least four semesters of Korean language courses offered by the International Education Center at Mirae Campus and completed level 6 of the language program OR who have received a level 6 TOPIK score

※ Standard for continuing to receive the scholarship: the student took a total of 12 credits or more in the preceding semester and maintained a GPA of 2.4 (on a 4.3 scale) or higher

    Half tuition waiver

    Awarded for a maximum of two semesters if the student fulfills the standard for continuing to receive the scholarship

    ※ Does not include students enrolled in the Wonju College of Medicine

  • Scholarship standard 2

    Incoming foreign nationals and Koreans raised overseas who have completed at least two semesters of Korean language courses offered by the International Education Center at Mirae Campus and completed level 5 of the language program OR who have received a level 5 TOPIK score

    Half tuition waiver for one semester

  • Common standard

    Receiving benefits from more than one of the Scholarship Based on Entrance Scores for Korean Freshmen, the Scholarship for Freshmen with Excellent Korean Language Ability, the Special Scholarship for Korean Language Education, the Scholarship Based on Entrance Scores for Foreign Nationals, and the Scholarship for Excellent Korean Language Ability is not permitted. Students who would be awarded two or more of the preceding scholarships shall instead receive the greatest single scholarship value.

    For scholarships with more than two years of benefits, the beneficiary shall receive a single deferral if they do not meet the standard for continuing to receive the scholarship. If the beneficiary does not meet the standard twice, they will be no longer eligible to receive the scholarship in the future.
