Academic Advising for Academic Warning Recipients

연세대학교에 입학하는 학생들은 우수한 자질과 탁월한 능력을 가지고 있습니다만,
학교에 입학한 후 여러가지 이유로 인하여 학사경고를 받는 경우가 있고 그 숫자는 해마다 조금씩 증가하고 있는 추세입니다.

학사경고를 받게 되는 이유는 학업 능력이 부족하다기 보다는 고교시절과는 다른 대학에서의 학습방법을 잘 모른다든지, 전공이 마음에 들지 않아서 학업을 소홀히 한다든지, 불안이나 우울 등 심리적인 요인으로 인해 공부에 전념할 수 없다든지, 경제적인 어려움 등의 다양한 이유가 있을 것입니다. 학사경고를 받게 되면 심리적으로 더욱 위축되어 그 다음 학기에 적응하는 데에 더 큰 어려움을 갖기 쉽습니다. 따라서 학사경고를 받은 학생들은 다음과 같이 수강 신청 전에 지도교수 또는 학과장과의 면담을 통해 정확한 이유를 알아내고 학교생활에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 도움을 드리고자 합니다. 이는 학생들의 행복과 복지를 위한 프로그램이니 적극적으로 참가하셔서 많은 도움을 받으시기 바랍니다.

Students admitted to Yonsei University are inherently outstanding students with excellent academic qualities.

The students' academic decline is usually due not to inaptitude but other various reasons: failure to overcome the differences in studying techniques between high school and college, neglecting one's studies after choosing an incompatible major, economic difficulties, and psychological factors such as anxiety and depression.

Students may well feel dispirited after receiving an academic warning and may have a difficult time recovering in time for the next academic term. We hope to analyze and understand the reasons for poor academic performance in order to better assist the students' adjustment to university life. Therefore, students who receive an academic warning should follow the guidelines below. They should attend an interview with the academic advisor or the department chair before beginning course enrollment. These steps are taken to promote the welfare and happiness of Yonsei students and we hope you will take advantage of the programs offered.

지도교수 또는 학과장에게 학사지도를 받고 지도교수 또는 학과장 날인을 받은 상담원과 설문지를 학사지원팀(언더우드관 B101)으로 제출하여야 다음 학기 수강신청이 가능합니다.

* 국제캠퍼스 학생은 국제캠퍼스 해당대학 사무실에 제출 가능

* 상담 전 상담원과 설문지를 작성하여 지도교수 또는 학과장께 제출

* 코로나19 확산 위험에 따라 비대면 상담도 가능

* 지도교수 또는 학과장 날인을 받은 상담원과 설문지를 학사지원팀 이메일로 제출

가능하나, 이메일 제출 후 학생이 직접 학사지원팀으로 전화하여 접수 여부를 확인

받아야 함(이메일 제출 후 학생이 직접 학사지원팀에 접수여부 확인전화를 하지 않는

경우, 접수되지 않음을 유의할 것)

* 보다 전문적인 심리 상담이 필요한 경우 심리상담센터(백양관 N408호)를 통해 상담

가능

Students who received their first or second academic warning in the previous semester must consult their academic advisor or department chair.

Course Enrollment is possible only after submitting counseling documents signed by the academic advisor or the department chair to the Academic Support Team (Underwood Hall B101).

* For International Campus students, Please submit to the affiliated office or

the Academic Support Team.

* Before counseling, students must complete and submit the Consultation form

and questionnaire provided to their academic advisor or department chair.

* Due to the risk of spreading Corona 19, non-face-to-face counseling is also

acceptable.

* You can also submit counseling documents signed by the academic advisor or

the department chair to the Academic Support Team by email.

Please note that you must call the Academic Support Team right after

submitting documents to make sure your documents are well received.

(If you don't call the office after submitting documents, your documents will

not be accepted.)

* If more professional psychological counseling is required, students can get counseling through the Psychological Counseling Center (Baekyang Hall N408).
