KGSP graduate Feruza shares her job-searching story

Yonsei alumna Feruza Buranova visited her alma mater to share her job-searching story with international students who wish to pursue their careers in Korea after graduation.

Name: Feruza Buranova

Major: Business Administration (Class of '17)

“I joined Woori Bank in 2017 and am currently Assistant Manager at the Foreign Customer Banking Business Department. Before Woori Bank, I had worked with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Seoul, gave lectures on Uzbekistan culture at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and worked as a professional interpreter in Korea.

During my time as an undergraduate international student at Yonsei University, I was challenged by Korean students because they were very competitive and very smart. Their drive propelled me to study harder and be more proactive. All of my business administration classes had group projects or tasks requiring teamwork, which helped me immensely in adapting to my current work environment. I also learned a lot about the Korean culture and mentality at Yonsei, and this experience was valuable in how I work with my Korean colleauges now.

I advise Yonsei international students planning to work in Korea to never give up! You can find many small-windowed opportunities if you search hard enough. Do the best you can, keep trying, and you will get results.”
