Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, operated the College of Engineering booths at the world's largest new technology fair, CES 2023, held in Las Vegas, United States, for four days from January 5 to 8. This was Yonsei University's first operation of solo exhibition booths at CES. It has received so much attention from participants by operating three exhibition booths in Eureka Park. In particular, the research team of Professor Chan-Byoung Chae (School of Integrated Technology) won two CES 2023 Innovation Awards.

Yonsei University College of Engineering actively introduced innovative technologies of the college and affiliated startups to companies and institutions worldwide at this CES 2023 and maximized marketing effects through collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA). Based on active investment and support at the university level, Yonsei University has ranked 78th in the world and 2nd in Korea in the THE World University Rankings 2023, released by THE (The Times Higher Education), a global university evaluation agency in the UK. In addition, the Yonsei College of Engineering ranked 58th in the world in the engineering field in the THE World University Rankings by Subjects.

Professor Seung Ah Lee's research team from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering introduced smartphone-based small microscope technology that can handle microscope control, imaging, resolution improvement, and analysis of results in real time with smartphone applications.

Professor Jongsup Hong's research team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the laboratory's startup company H-Cube Solution demonstrated "H-Twin." This digital twin-based system solution supports the design and analysis of various hydrogen fuel cell systems and optimizes system operation based on reliable hydrogen fuel cell stack and system component models.

Professor Chan-Byoung Chae's research team from the School of Integrated Technology introduced four new technologies, including 6G semantic communication technology and ultra-low power reconfigurable intelligent environment/surface technology. Among them, the transparent antenna-based AR glasses for millimeter wave bands developed with Sensor View Co., Ltd. won the CES 2023 Innovation Award in two areas: Mobile Devices & Accessories and Smart Cities. In addition, a magnetic field-based multiple input/output system was developed and demonstrated with AT&C to treat Alzheimer's, a degenerative brain disease. This technology also won the Best Demo Award at the IEEE ICC.

Dean Jae Min Myoung of the College of Engineering said, "By displaying the outstanding research achievements of Yonsei College of Engineering professors at CES 2023, where cutting-edge technologies from all around the world get released, we expect that there will be a great contribution to take Yonsei College of Engineering's competitiveness to the next level toward the global stage."
