Office of International Affairs Holds "Japan Day" at Global Lounge in the Commons
Office of International Affairs Holds

Conducting Various Programs Related to Japanese Culture

On November 10 and 11, the "Global Day for the Fall 2002 Semester" was held under the theme of Japanese culture, hosted by the Yonsei University Office of International Affairs (OIA) and organized by its affiliated club Yonsei Global.

The theme of this semester's Global Day was "Japan Day," and various programs related to Japanese culture were conducted, including experiencing traditional Japanese clothing and toys, making name tags in katakana, and playing Kingyo-sukui (goldfish scooping).

A total of 400 students participated in the event for two days. Participants were provided with some Japanese food, including takoyaki and beverages. Some of them also had a chance to receive Japanese souvenirs through a lottery.

With the support of the Global One-Stop Service Center (GOSC) of the OIA, Japanese exchange students from Japan and the United States also participated in operating the booths, making the event more meaningful in that students could have an opportunity for global cooperation.

Global Day is a representative event that helps Yonsei University students actively interact with diverse cultures and broaden their perspectives on the world. It is held regularly twice a year.
